My Music Video Brief
The genre of music I have chosen to do my video on is, pop, pop rock and alternative. I am doing a solo artist with the song that I have chosen of Jason Mraz, I’m yours.
The style is going to be fashionable with a twist of slight difference in the way that the sing has meaning to the video. The style also has big links to other artists like Jack Johnson, Click Here , John Mayer Click Here, Jason Mraz Click here, and Mat Kearney. The ethos of the artist is laid back and chilled out not into the fame and the celebrity way of living they are more into their music than the celebrity life style, They are not just interested in going out with a super model for their celebrity ego they are happy with a normal girl. They are clean living not into drugs, smoking or the odd party pill they don’t see the need to. They are there to entertain with their music aswel as give their self a good satisfaction of their song that they have just written, they main motives for their music is to entertain there fan base and attract people that are like them they are not trying too hard to become somebody that they are not. There lyrics have meaning to what maybe has happened to their self and what is happening to other people like them.

The content in the song is about falling into love and your first year that you are kind of free there are no limits of what you have to stick to like going to university and moving away from home, no parents to tell you what you have to do now. It about not being hesitant to what he really wants to do, getting more confidence to do what he has wanted to do for a long time and now be shy or quiet about it.
The ideas I have for the photographic look is against a wall or with a field behind them very calm background no hussle and bussle for some of the video other with maybe walking through a busy street with him standing out to show his new independence. The location can be either on the common to show the freedom, or my field at my house which can also show the freedom and new calmness, the styles are a little bit countrified. I also want to put Flash backs of the him playing at a live performance or him just by himself playing a guitar in a room. The colours that can be used are going to be soft like yellows, Whites, maybe having possible animals in background like country life animals, cows, and sheep. They can also be put with them slower than everybody else, as a slow motion take in the video.

Looking up from her heart into the sky… blue sunny sky.. smilely and walking around in circles. If possible a heart cloud to show the link between the heart and sky

Showing something that means fate.
The style will be stylish and comfortable cloths but smart. Depending on the meanings against the words and what seasons is what the clothing and style would be.
My target audience is going to be the age group between 16 and 23, There gender is both women and men but mostly men with the song as it’s a love song and girls are more likely to listen to it. There hobbies can be to listen to music whilst chilling out doing work or just to listen to while they are on their way to do something there hobbies can be anything but it’s not going to be a mental band target audience they wouldn’t like this sort of music. They could still be in education but they don’t have to be as it is a popular song with not just schooled people they would be working. There fashion would be to listen to calming and meaningful music that the lyrics mean something. They will have a good social life with going out and enjoying life. The internet will be Facebook link and bebo, MySpace as this is what they would be on and advertising would be good in these social networking sites. TV stations would be on MTV or Music Chart channel with what they may have. If it was free view more popular then it would be the chart channel and with sky they will have both this wouldn’t need to be played all the time but when a break is on just a quick clip to promote the song so that not the whole song is given away before they listen to it properly a clip that is snatch and will make the audience look for it. Itunes to store the song so they can sell it to create a larger fan base.
The consumption of the TV would not be a lot of showing the video on ITV1 it would be on a music channel and the promotion would be done by clips of it on different channels and on magazine covers with the CD case cover advertising it. ITunes being the main promotion as it sells a lot of the songs and can make pop ups of the song and clips to make people then click on it and view the whole song and possible buy it. Also YouTube would be a good way of advertising the cd and song. My target audience would be watching TV last thing before they went to bed or later on at night, between 7 and 11 pm at night and this would be the best time to advertise my music video as they would then maybe turn over or know about the song and look out for it. I would also use social networking sites like Facebook and MySpace and I could also have a twitter page so that I could advertise when songs are coming out and what is happening to the artist giving them more information and involvement with their artists and the artists fan base.
